Receives Error 52 or 76 path not found when launching Datapax

Error 52 or 76 indicates that the workstation has lost its connection to the database on the server.

Hint: Most of the time, simply restarting your machine will fix this error, as upon startup the system re-establishes all of its network connections.

To Test your connection to your Database:
  1. Go to the Datapax Bakery System directory on your computer.  Locate your Datapax.ini file and open.
    1. to do this, go to your Datapax icon on your desktop, right click and choose "Properties", on the window that opens up, click Find Target or Open Folder (message will change depending on the Operating System you are using). In the folder that opens up there will be a Datapax.ini file, if you don't see the .ini part of the file then just choose the file named Datapax that has a small gear next to it. Open this file by double-clicking on it. If the file does not start with Database= then try a different file, there are only two or three named Datapax.

  2. Locate the path listed after DATABASE= the path indicated here is the path to the database on your server. (example: \\server01\Database\ ) be sure to get the \ at the end, not copying this will cause your program to not find the data.
  3. Copy the path in your ini file (\\server01\Database\).  Click on the START, select RUN and then paste in your server path just copied and hit RUN or OK:
  • If you can see files/folders (Datapax.mdb, HISTXXXX.mdb) then you were successfully able to navigate to your Database.  Try to reopen Datapax and this should resolve the error you received earlier.
  • A login screen appears…
    • A login screen indicates a security issue within your network.  You will need to contact your Network Administrator/IT person to adjust the connection to the server to not prompt for password and to store this detail for you.
  •  An error appears “unable to connect”…
    • This indicates that either your workstation is not fully connected to the network OR your server has lost network connection.  In this instance, contact your Network Administrator/IT person to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
