Backup/Move Datapax to a new computer (DOS)

To move datapax to a new computer all you need to do is copy the ENTIRE Datapax folder (normally C:\Datapax, but it may be on a different drive) and then paste it on the new computer. You can do this by burning it to a CD, or copying it on to a USB/Thumb drive. After moving it to the new computer you need to open the Datapax folder and find the file D.BAT. Right click and drag this icon to the desktop to create the shortcut (be sure you have copied the shortcut and not moved over the file. You can tell it's a shortcut by the small arrow at the bottom of the icon)

WARNING! Do Not move datapax to a directory whose name is longer than 8 characters. Due to the nature of DOS it is best to install it on the root directory (C:\) to forestall any issues.

You're done!

Please do be aware that if you are sharing the datapax data between 2 or more computers you will need to share the datapax folder on the network and map the users to the share. Please contact your systems administrator to perform these tasks.

Final Production did not print invoices or Ran Final Production for the wrong day

If Invoices did not print you can either Restore Final Production and then re-run Final Production, or go to Direct Invoicing and choose today's date and reprint from there.

If you ran Final Production for the wrong day, restore Final Production and that will take the system back to where it was before you ran it.�

Then you can re-run Final Production for the correct day.

To ensure a smooth rollover to 2010, follow these easy steps:

Before closing 2009 A/R files, ensure no other users or Windows are running Datapax.

Go to the main Windows Icon screen, left-click START, and left-click RUN

Type: COMMAND��

Type: C:�� (substitute the Datapax drive letter if applicable)

Type: CD\DATAPAX��

Type: CLRZERO��

Type: DEL CUSTOM10.DAT (That�s one-zero, not �one-oh�)

Type: DEL CUSTOM10.IDX� (That�s one-zero, not �one-oh�)

Type: DEL INV???10.DAT�� (That�s one-zero, not �one-oh�)

Type: EXIT

If you want to delete any customers accounts having a balance (or credit), select

F6:F1 and enter an offsetting transaction bringing the customer�s balance to 0.00

�

To close 2009 A/R files, select F7 Direct Invoicing with a date of 100101.

�

While closing 2009 A/R files, do not delete inactive customers.

�� Inactive customers can be deleted by selecting F2:F3 after 2009 is closed.

�

After closing 2009 A/R files, all invoices and payments must be dated within 2010.
